Archery
TARGET ARCHERY RULES, SAFETY, AND GENERAL INFORMATION
To increase accessibility, rides up and down “the hill” will be available. When a ride down is needed, please ask someone with a radio to call to archery, if you are not close to someone with a radio, text 559-260-1051 and ask for a ride down the hill.
- In order to practice or compete, you must be familiar with the Caidian Rules of the Line, and ensure the safety of your equipment
- If you are a new archer, or looking for training, please talk to the Marshal for training We have loaner gear available. Please talk to the Marshal for information
- We will have water on the field for you to drink, along with a carport for shade. Please bring your own bottle or cup. We will not have cups available.
- Please bring your own chair if possible. We may have limited communal chairs.
- Please bring sunscreen, and apply it throughout the day. Remember that you can still get a sunburn if it is cloudy or cool.
- Please remember to drink plenty of fluids.
- Know your limits and listen to your body! Your health is more important than any event or competition! You are the best judge of when it is time for you to stop.
- No archers under the age of 18 are allowed on the field without a parent, guardian, or a signed waiver from parents or guardians. Youth 15 and under must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
ARCHERY SHOOT DESCRIPTIONS
Ongoing Royal Rounds
Archers shoot at a standard ring target from a distance of 40, 30, and 20 yards, plus a 30 second speed round at 20 yards. This is your chance to obtain or increase your archery rank within the SCA. You earn a rank after completing 3 royal rounds in a year, either at the same event or at multiple events.
