VOLUNTEERING

Great Western War volunteering is a chance to be involved with the inner workings of a major event and to meet other incredible people who share your commitments. Every hour you volunteer—at any task—at Great Western War also helps relieve the pressure on an overworked Event Steward, and you get raffle tickets that can get you cool stuff for your kit! There are many War volunteer opportunities that involve sitting, schmoozing, mocking, snarking, giggling, pointing and laughing; all valuable skills in both the SCA and modern life. You will also get to meet a wealth of interesting people, including possible boon companions, potential future accomplices and alibis, and maybe your one true love.

Grab a volunteer card from Headquarters when you arrive at war and find out more about the different types of activities you can do to help out. This war runs on a volunteer staff and we wouldn’t nearly have all of the fun we do without them!

We appreciate all volunteers and have a wonderful raffle set up to reward those who take at least a couple hours out of their war to help make it run smoothly. The raffle will be held in A&S on Sunday at noon.

When you are volunteering, be sure to have the person you report to sign your volunteer card! We know most people are not looking for recognition, but we need to know how many hours it really takes to run the war! Please make sure to track your hours during the war and return the card to Headquarters on Sunday by 11am.
